any ideas?

and also is it harmful to drive the car with the light on?

is there any simple things to check?i already checked fluid level its perfect..

Hi buddy, check my recent reply to a post by andy d which was entitled "all 3 lights on" or some thing like that.

In the thread you will come across a post by me towards the bottom which describes how to force bleed the pump. I gave 2 ways to do it, you need to do the SECOND ONE.

It will work buddy.

Steevie, you need to do the same thing.

Keep me posted, both of you.

get a diagnostic done and this should tell you what the problem is.

Nooooo, don't do this, they will rob you blind! It cost me £70 for the diagnostics and it came up with g sensor around £198 and oxygen control sensor £289,all in all for the parts and fitting they wanted over £700,bare in mind that the g sensor is located under the centre column,a 5min job and I believe the oxygen sensor is somwhere around the downpipe area, another 5min job, even if it took 20mins to do both that's about£10 a min what a joke, worst part about it,if I was stupid enough to pay it id still have the prob.

Getting a diagnostic done will only generalise the problem and not pinpoint it. Run the test I told you to and then get back to me and let me know what happened.

if the diagnostic came up with the g-sensor then that is more than likely the fault as the ayc uses that sensor.

you can do diagnostic yourself by bridging pins 1 and 4 on the obd and counting cel flashes.

counting the cell flashes will no doubt come up with the same fault code as the the one done by the pro's so is it really worth doing it again:confused:
you are just gonna second opinion the first opinion that was generated by the same car:D
if the g sensor was the fault and it was changed and the problem is still there then it is obvious that the diagnostic was generalised which is always what happens in life.

It is always a point to to get the dealer to verify that if thats the fault and the part they are telling you to change will fix it then are they willing to guarantee it???
urm......... will be the response:D

The problem is that the diagnostics tools will throw up everything and it is not guaranteed that the fault will be cured right away.

It is more then likely going to rule out components in one go or in piecemeal. If you have money to spend then you will probably consent to changing them all as they are thrown up.
If you don't have the money then you have had it. When a diagnostic is done, it is always better to check the complete system that is operating the component under scrutiny.
Granted, you may pay a little extra on the labour side but you may well save a hell of a lot more on the components side.

Recommending diagnostics is a good thing for sure but if they have been carried out and the components changed (G sensor and then pump) why the hell was the relay not checked at the get go????

did the op change the g-sensor? I was reading it as not?

I mentioned about doing diagnostics himself to save himself £70 next time.

In my experience if the ecu is throwing a fault for a particular part then that part needs sorting and not ignoring.

it is agreed that when the ecu throws up a fault it does need sorting, the problem here is that the fault thrown up is generalised so a general check over is worth doing to eliminate all the components that are involved in that fault code being thrown up.

I run a garage and up until now I have never had a dissatisfied customer. If the system we have implemented is wrong then we would not have cars comming from all over the this great Kingdom would we???

We would not get calls from garages in the west midlands area sending jobs that they are stuck on via trailer to do it for them and save face.

We deal with at least 4 Evo's a week & I have been specialising in Evo's for over 10 years and we have the latest EOBD Data/Diagnostics tools so I think I can speak with some form of authority;)

Quite likely to be AYC fluid change required, when was it last done?

Hopefully it's nothing more sinister than that.

Hi, my light came on as well. I only got rid of it when I fitted a replacement ayc pump.
