    Good afternoon all,

I've had the red triangle exclamation mark come up to the Evo this week and from looking in the manual it's showing as a timing chain issue. Reading various forums, these need to be replaced at approx. 60,000 miles.

Mine's only done 32k, so bit concerned that it could be another issue? I've stopped driving it until I get it sorted.

I've also asked an Evo specialist garage who advised me "9 times out of 10 it isn't a sensor fault and the belt needs replacing". They are quoting £850 + VAT.

Does anyone think that it could be something else? or has anyone else had to replace theirs at this early mileage?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

    Many thanks in advance.

Mine was replaced at 35k, you can get it done cheaper than that- check indigo gt
There is a new style timing chain because the original was largely not up to the job, although some people have had no issue.
It's best not to leave it as the chain could jump and cause damage to the engine/valves.
The car ran noticeably better after I had mine fixed/updated.
