Right it's my daughters 17th birthday tomorrow so we want to buy her a car for the occasion:) My question is I have seen a nice KA in Wells Somerset for sale, now could I drive the KA home to Wales on either my evo or saab insurance they are both fully comp policies with protection:confused: The reason I ask is that the KA will not be insured for my daughter until she passes her test so \i am not sure whether my insurance would cover me without it being insured third party:wtf:

If it needs to be insured for you to be covered it would specify that in the small print of your insurance documents. If not you should be good to go.

UC me it's not you selling it is it??? lol. I know I'm covered to drive vehicles that are not owned by me, but would it be ok as the vehicle itself wouldn't have it's own insurance policy

No but it is only 5 mins down the road. Lol. In the policies i have seen before they actually state that the car must be insured by a third party for you to be covered. Some do not say this. If you are unsure ring you insurer and ask the question.

i think it differs for each insurer because thats how i insured my evo 5 i had it in my girlfriends name and i was covered 3rd party only on it once it was taxed and tested it didnt have to be insured for me to be covered on it

best ring your insurance company they will tell u fairly quick

Think that's what I will have to do. I only want to drive it home and then park it on the drive.

Nick, have you not seen traffic cops

No you are not insured to drive it unless it is insured by the owner and with there permission

Go to tempcover.com for some 1 day 1 off cover and stop being so tight :)
