Come on guy's the K- series isn't that bad:arms:

PMSL! Done two last week both on freelanders, one last month on a MG ZR and two MGF just before xmas, they are terrible, words fail me for how bad they are. The only good thing about yhem is they pay my wages! Lol :)

Well there not hard or costly to do are they like some vehicles are?

Ever thought how man K series engine's where made and compare the amount of head gasket's which actually failed to the number of engine's built you would be very surprised??

There not that costly and they are really easy, however i wouldnt be surprised if over 50% have failed, every experianced mechanic in the trade has done there fair share of them and I know of one specialist in my local area that would carry out 5 or 6+ per week. Is it any surprise that Rover/MG went bust and had to sell up to china????

2nd chance lol! :) have you done anything with it today? :)
yes, took the sump off ready to sort the threads out where the oil return bolts up as they arnt holding very well and sorted out the oil return pipe itself so it doesnt leak anymore.

and drank tea :):)

Haha! Tea is a must, I had to buy a thermal cup, always get distracted by little jobs and it goes cold!

i dont drink much tea, not like the others i share unit with. i always end up peeing like a race horse when they are on it all day lol :)

Lol! More of a case of you don't make much tea when im up there! I don't drink that much tea do I ?? Lol

O gutted mate,lucky you see it early! So just the gasket? Good you can do all the your self fair play will save you loads of $$$ :)

Head cleaned fully rebuilt with new stem seals and back on the car...... At last :)

At long last its back on the road :) took some doing mind.
Fitted some nice new hel braided brake lines which went really well and so did bleeding the brakes until one of the nipples snapped off :(
Several hours later and several repair attempts made in the end one replacement caliper fitted..... Cheers mate !! :):)

All has not gone well :(
Seems the my clutch plates have decided to fall apart :(
